GIT – THE “IMMORTALITY TOKEN” OF VIBE CODERS
By now, experienced IT folks still have the advantage. But in a few years, the ones with psychology and spiritual skills might be the most valuable.
GIT – THE “IMMORTALITY TOKEN” OF VIBE CODERS

A few days ago, I accidentally told the AI Agent to delete the POS module because I had separated it into a standalone package. I didn’t pay attention, and it wiped out the entire shift-management feature as well (because it also had the word “POS”). The instruction said “delete all modules containing ‘pos’,” and the AI took it literally.
I’ve been wanting to write this for a while but never found the right moment or illustration. Today’s incident is perfect to share the core difference between a professional vibe coder and a less professional one — using Git.
If you’re just a casual vibe coder who asks the AI to write something, sees it run, gets excited, then keeps asking it to tweak this and adjust that… rest assured: if you don’t have a backup mechanism, the AI will absolutely turn you into a fool one day by changing something you never expected. And when that happens, if you’re a beginner, you’ll have no way to revert to a stable or preferred version. Then you’ll jump online and complain that vibe coding is buggy, messy, unreliable… blah blah.
So if you’re genuinely into vibe coding, learn how to store your code with Git (GitLab or GitHub). At the very least, zip up your “million-dollar software masterpiece” every day and keep it somewhere safe. Because sooner or later, the AI will stab you.
Enjoy vibe coding!
